Does anyone have info on Baker Motor Car Company in one of the New England states? They were in business in 1955-56, but not sure of other years and details. Thank you!

HI: I have a couple of possible candidates fr; Baker Motor Car CO. If you expand the meaning
of New England states to the North East US. These were all in business in 1955 or 1956. There
were a couple more elsewhere or in much earlier years. I would need additional information to

Ahhh... at best, it would have to be Baker in Rhode Island. The others are too far south. I originally thought CT... but Rhode Island is at least in the realm. Was this a Packard dealer?

Yes Baker Auto in RI was a Packard Dealer--officially a S-P dealer, but specificially in the Packard
Dealer book. This may have been a used car dealer that took up a franchise for a few years & later
dropped it. I have a large number of the dealers of this period, but I always hope to see a couple
more here or there. Some new dealers didnt last long for one reason or another. KEN
