Underseat heater

I'm restoring an under-rear-seat heater. In Service letters I found REAR COMPARTMENT HOT WATER HEATERS instructions for positioning the heater in 5-passengers cars like my 1940 Conv Sedan, but not all the instructions (that come with a new heater). One part of the underseat heater may be missing. Do...

Re: clock repair

Jerry will take good care of you at Clock Works. They do conversions, too, but . . .

My '40 Borg went elsewhere and had to be sent back, and it still didn't run reliably.
It runs beautifully now.

PAC Store Decals

I've just had another bad experience trying to apply the PAC's DE-10 oil bath air cleaner decal. I have written Jay Hubbard. Thank you, Dave.

Re: Modern Equivalents for Packard colours

Here's one source. From here I contacted PPG. They purchased Ditzler Paint and have the formula. The color center then converts the color to modern finishes. Mine is Envirobase, a new water soluable, eco-friendly base color coat. http://www.tcpglobal.com/aclchip.aspx?image=1940-packard-pg01.jpg Some...

Re: turn signals

Bob, You prob have this resolved, but I ordered my wiring harnesses from Harnesses Unlimited. They offered an option for turn signal wiring at no add'l cost to the harness set for 1940. I drilled a hole in the upper interior of my taillights and pressed a bulb socket in there. I think the sockets ca...

Part missing from '40 front window

When I took my windows apart to replace glass and rubber, too many years ago to mention, I misplaced the part that joins the 2 arms that create a scissor action to raise and lower the window. It's some kind of bushing or washer, plus screws to hold it in, one in a round hole and one in a slotted hol...
