1951-54 Front Fenders

I have a pair of 1951-54 front fenders that need a new home. They are not perfect, but close enough to excellent to get there with a little work. I cannot ship these, but might deliver for my cost if not too far from northeast Indiana. Or you are welcome to come after them. $150 for the pair. Steve ...

Re: Model identification

As a suggestion: I use Microsoft Paint for photo size reduction. If you have the Windows operating system on your computer you probably already have it. Open the photo in Paint, click on "resize" and you can deal with percentages from there.

Re: 1951 Patrician Police Car?

Thanks, Dave. I'm just about to conclude that this car was never owned by the airport and probably was never even a police car. The spotlights are aftermarket dummies and the window sticker is probably fraudulent, since the airport name was changed in 1944 and the sticker would have been seven years...

1951 Patrician Police Car?

Did Packard offer a police package in 1951? And did anyone ever hear of a police force ordering top of the line? This car is a Patrician and has a stick shift from the factory. It also has dual spotlights, but no other police equipment that I can see. Does anyone know what this could be? I'm puzzled...

1948 Packard Dealer Promo Collection

Dad was a Packard dealer and I was five years old in 1948. I had a few of these dealer promos to play with, and as an adult I decided years ago to try to collect all the colors. Trouble is, I've never known how many colors were made. Over the years, I have acquired the following colors: tan, blue, c...

Re: 53 Patrician with Clicking Lifter

The car has 57,000 actual miles, and that's documented. I have never had the pan off. I have a mechanical gauge and I'll give that a try. There is no clicking when the engine is cold, only after it warms up fully. With 10W40 the oil should not be thinning out, but it may be anyway. I wish Packard ha...

Re: 53 Patrician with Clicking Lifter

Thanks for your reply, Dave. The engine recently had a complete tuneup: Plugs, Points, Condenser. and Rotor. The spark plug wires and cap look new and were not replaced. It also just had a carburetor rebuild. I just drove it about 60 miles today and it performed well. But when I stop, the engine com...

53 Patrician with Clicking Lifter

My 1953 Patrician has one lifter clicking. There is also a miss now when the engine is idling. I'd love to avoid tearing it down if I can. Does anybody know a fix for this condition? Recommendations?

Thanks,

Perrysburg Meet 2013

Can someone tell me whether the Perrysburg, Ohio, Packard meet is still being held? I'm an old Packard man who hasn't been active for some time, but who has a couple of cars and a truckload of parts to sell. I'd like to contact whomever is in charge of vendor spaces at this meet and reserve space--i...

Packard Dealer, Wabash, Indiana

I'm new to this forum, but a Packard collector since the mid-1970's. My father was the Packard dealer in Wabash, Indiana, when I was growing up and all of our family cars were Packard "demonstrators," complete with dealer plates. (I've always wondered how he got away with that.) Dad was also the Int...
