I have concern regarding the spacers and backspacing such that the design of the 35-36 drums which have a specific groove to accept an aligning protrusion from the original wheels. I advise caution.

No. That sounds like about twice what I would expect. Alternatively, I have a recently recored 37-120 radiator I can sell you right now...$900 plus shipping.

...and yes, the "cup" was originally pressed in. then the choke spring/plate screws on as you noticed at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions. From Memory (fading/failing) there is an auto electric shop in Florida that can work on an R9 solenoid.

agree with Howard. if you have a flashlight, mirror and a tiny elf to crawl up under the dash, check for presence of switch/wiring.

as to interchange, yes,most any 35-54 starter will interchange, (exceptions being 320, 356 and 327-9main with the big delco solenoid...) The MZ starter was a "step down" I suspect motivated by some "bean counter" of the era, long since fired.

Interesting. Certainly NOT a factory body, so the question is who built the body.
