Re: 33 1003 Exhaust system pics or dwg's wanted

THANKS for the exhaust pics. The pic confirms the bracket I have on the LEFT side is for the exhaust, where the pipe will cross over in front of the gas tank and exit on the left side. Apparently , this was "corrected" sometime in '33. I do not have the large clamp/bracket that surrounds the muffler...

1003 tail light internals

I found that my tail light shells are empty - no bulb sockets. Can someone provide pictures or details of the type and mounting of the bulb sockets. I assume I can get some replacements from Restoration Supply.

THANKS

33 1003 Exhaust system pics or dwg's wanted

Does anyone have pictures or drawings showing the exhaust system mounting on the chassis? The parts book lists several brackets and heat shields, etc. I was also told that some of the early 1003's had the exhaust turn in front of the gas tank and exit on the left side. I have an unused bracket attac...

Re: 1003 Headlight and horn wiring

Thanks Dave - helpful as always Yes, the headlights are the same. The switch wiring diagram helps confirm what I already have in my harness, but it is still not clear which plug in the headlight base is "pass", "tilt", etc. It is interesting that only two of the filaments are used in the left light v...

1003 Headlight and horn wiring

I need the proper connections for the headlight wires on my '33 1003 Su 8. The plugs in the base of the headlights are labeled 1-2-3-4-G The right light has connectors in 1-2-3 and G, and no connector in 4. Thus, I assume 4 is for parking lamp if not equipped with fender lamps and G is ground. The l...

Re: twin coil ignition

Jacko, Do you have the part numbers for the NAPA condensers you installed? Were you able to install them in the original inside position? Someone has installed "modern" condensers on the outside of my distributor. When the engine is hot and on attempt to restart, the car behaves as one with bad cond...

Re: Fuse for '33 1003

Thanks, I knew I could count on you for an answer. I will likely have more questions as I dig into the wiring.

Old Forum information?

I am back to my Packard after a few years absence. In the past there was quite a long string of technical forum postings, (searchable by year/model?) that had a Lot of good information in them. Are they archived somewhere and still available for searching?
