WANTED for 1941 110 : Long GEAR SELECTOR ROD
HELP ! The longer of the two adjustable gear selector rods on my 1941 110 Touring sedan (the ones that link the gear selector arms on the steering column to those down by the the Master Cylinder) has been weld-repaired so is bent and not fully adjustable, so I'm seeking a good used replacement. Can ...

FRONT SUSPENSION AND AFTERMARKET PARTS Well after two weeks of 'fun' (and expense) in a commercial garage, my front end is back together. As well as wheel bearings and king pins, as before we have fixed the worst of the movement in the steering pivot where it bolts though the crossmember. That was ...

Re: UK - Based 1941 110 Touring Sedan Deluxe RHD
Hi Adam,
Thanks buddy, I will. To be honest I'm now thinking I'll take them off whilst I sort the standard suspension components, and then have a better look at them whilst they're off the car.

Re: UK - Based 1941 110 Touring Sedan Deluxe RHD
Great responses, guys; thanks. No the car never had any towing hitch that I can see evidence of, so as you say it might just have been to supplement the suspension (I believe this car was exported to South Africa from new...). Re. condition, yes they may well be deteriorated - I might try inflating ...

Re: UK - Based 1941 110 Touring Sedan Deluxe RHD
Thanks Dave - as always you are the man.
Two Questions;
1). how do they fill, what pressure etc. ??
2). Would you leave them on just as a talking point, or remove & revert to original ?

Re: UK - Based 1941 110 Touring Sedan Deluxe RHD
REAR SUSPENSION QUERY As part of inspecting my cars underside to identify and plan remedial 'mechanical refurbishment', I couldn't help notice these rear axle springs with internal 'airbags'. I cant see these in my Parts book, so wonder if they are genuine Packard parts or 'aftermarket. At present ...

Re: UK - Based 1941 110 Touring Sedan Deluxe RHD
SLOPPY STEERING ISSUES Having decided on an assembly sequence for the kingpins (-Thanks to Dave - see Suspension Forum for details), it was time to move onto another element of the sloppy steering, the steering arms/linkages themselves. The spring box has no discernible play, which was great news, ...

Re: 1941 110 front Suspension Kingpins
Hi Dave, Many thanks for this. Like you say, I'm guessing at different times the units might have used either bushes, bearings, or one of each, perhaps as they developed the suspension, or as you say, to manage costs. Anyway, in the absence of a definitive answer, looking at the design of the castin...

Re: 1941 110 front Suspension Kingpins
Hi Dave, Many thanks for getting back to me; sadly not. The parts manual mentions ream-able bushes AND roller bearing options without specifying whether they are for upper or lower fitting, and its diagram just shows the external view; the Owners Manual simply states, "King Pins are fitted with two ...

1941 110 front Suspension Kingpins
As per the always-helpful instructions from forum members, I've stripped my cars front suspension to fit new kingpins/bushes, and front wheel bearings/oil seals. The new parts kits include a ream-able bush and a roller bearing to carry either end of the the new pins in the stub axle casting. However...
