WTB: '39 120 parts

Hello, I need a few things to return my '39 120 to original condition (it was "restored" a few years ago and it needs some help). I need the following: - Headlight lenses, rings, reflectors, sockets, etc. to fix the sealed beam conversion that was done to the car. - a proper speaker for my PA 333915...

Re: CUP GREASE

I realize that this is a very old thread but I have relevant information on the topic. I recently emailed the National Lubricating Grease Institute (NLGI) requesting information about the #3 cup grease specified in the service manual for my '39 Packard. Their reply is pasted below: "The term “#3 Cup...

Re: New Packard owner

Glad you and your Packard made the trip and had a great time. The Gilmore is a wonderful venue, have you seen the pictures from when the CCCA had their "Packard Experience" there? Some pictures and commentary here: http://www.packardclub.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3336 I know of the Packard Expe...

Re: New Packard owner

Zach, did she make it to that big car show? She sure did! Had a great time, both driving her on the 100 mile round trip and while at the show. One of only four Packards out of over 1000 cars. I got there right as the show opened up and got a prime spot near the reproduction Shell Station on the Gil...

Re: New Packard owner

I thought you might appreciate this picture of my new '39 Packard... The paint of the car already looked very good but I knew I could improve it with a little elbow grease. Since I'm planning to take her to a very large car show next Saturday, I figured I'd better get busy and make it happen. So I s...

Re: New Packard owner

Thank you gentlemen for your kind words and responses. My Packard should be delivered about 5:30pm tonight, then a trip to the DMV tomorrow morning and I should be driving legally tomorrow afternoon. I can't wait!

New Packard owner

Hello, My name is Zach Dillinger. I posted a couple years back asking for help in finding my first Packard. I chased leads, hunted down past owners, crawled under at least a dozen, etc. to find the right one. Well, that day finally came! I shook hands to buy a 1939 Packard One-Twenty from a Packard ...

Re: Wanted: My first Packard

Well, unfortunately the 21st series car near my house was already sold. So, I'm back to the beginning with the hunt.

Re: Wanted: My first Packard

Thanks for the welcome Adam. Funny you should mention the 21st series... I have a potential line on a '47 Clipper less than an hour from my house. It isn't cosmetically perfect but looks like a pretty good car for the money. So we will see what happens. Even if I buy the Clipper, I'll still be looki...

Re: Wanted: My first Packard

Thanks for the welcome Dave. I am really looking forward to the chase and finding the right car, and then I'm REALLY looking forward to enjoying the car once I find it!
