Looks like the heater has been bypassed, it's a T configuration, they had it from the water pump then connects to T coupling then to the driver side port on the block, don't know what that port is either I will be reversing it back to original, it did come with a plug in heater block, quite rare Wh...

Packard carried two air filters during the 22nd/23rd series run, an oiled mesh and an oil bath. Both were conventional "top mount" units. In the 23rd Series they did use the Carter WDG 728S or SA carburetor which also used a normal "top mount" air cleaner. I'm not sure what carburetor you have show...

I wonder what make of vehicle that Carter carburetor is from. I've never seen anything like it before. Does it have a CarterCarStarter switch in the base? Some Packards came with Carter 728s carbs, according to a brochure I read online The one o there is 728, works great but don't know what air cle...

I am also curious about what is happening with the heater hose. It looks like the head supply port is attached to the return hose to bypass the heater core but where does the other hose go that is attached to the Y and heads off toward drivers side. Flush hose or something else? Looks like the heat...
