Re: 1940 120

Good advice! Original coils are VERY expensive! The first one I got didn’t last a week. This one has done better.

Re: 1940 120

Cranks like crazy! Best cranking PACKARD I have. Just has me baffled as to why the fire is so weak to the plugs. When it cools off starts normally. Just hate to throw parts at it. Am replacing the tune up stuff. Is there any way to ohm the coil? I have no specs. Thanks!

1940 120

My 40 120 will not start when hot. The spark at the spark plugs are very weak when hot. Coil? Runs fine when cool. Have installed an electric low pressure pump to combat vapor lock. Bought a new coil from Max Merrit some years ago.

1940 120 master cylinder

I am having a problem with the brakes gradually tightening up on my 1940 120. I believe it to be the bleed back orafice in the master cylinder stopped up. Is there any way to run a drill or wire in the orafice while the cylinder is still on the car? I did it on a 1952 Pontiac and it cured the proble...

Thanks Dave! It has to be close to the end of production due to the war.

Re: 1942 Packard Clipper

Checked it out a little closer, The bumpers appear to have been chromed once and there is no delivery information on the ID tag on the firewall. I like the idea of it possibly being a real late production 42!
