1950 Club Sedan 23rd series, bottom steering box seal

Dear Packard owners, I have another question that I am looking for some guidance and best practices. I just installed a front end kit from Kanter, which allowed a good alignment before installing new radial tires, with the car now driving really smooth. After all my engine work to get the car tuned,...

1950 Club Sedan 23rd series, WGD Carb tuneup Adjustments

Dear Packard owners, I have a 1950 club sedan, 23rd series, with a 288cid. My request is for information and photos about adjusting the WGD carburetor for a tuneup. I rebuilt and/or replaced the entire fuel system, e.g., gas tank, gas lines, fuel pump and carburetor. I also did other work to get the...

Dear Packard owners, I have a 1950 club sedan and am trying to get the OD working. Many of the OD parts have been inoperable for a long time due to engine heat, age, broken OD cable, etc. So I have begun replacing all the OD parts. I appreciate the responses in this thread. My inquiry revolves aroun...

Re: Electrical wiring plan

Hello Howard 56,

Would you have the electrical schematic for a 1950 Club Sedan, 23rd series with an R-11 overdrive? I have replaced all the overdrive parts and want to rewire with the correct wire gauge. Thanks.

Re: Distributor Removal

Thanks for the response. Come to think of it, there was some type of round screw-like fastener on the other side. It had a slot like for a screwdriver and I tried to see if it would move, but it wouldn’t budge. Have you seen this type of faster hold down on the right side of the distributor? If this...

Distributor Removal

Dear Packard owners, I have a 1950 Packard Club Sedan, 23rd series with a 288 cid engine. I was recently working on my car wanting to remove the distributor to replace the points and condensor, but ran into some problems. Once you remove the bolt that holds the distributor hold-down in place, do you...
