Thanks for reply. The surfaces of the pump were not square so I have filled some small pitted spots and sanded them on a piece of glass. Thanks for reply. I ended up connecting a hose to carb inlet filling it with fuel and gentle blowing the gas in while starting. My car does not have vacuumed canister. Fuel pump leak
1931 840 all original ie mechanical fuel pump. Fuel pump was leaking from weep hole. I rebuilt pump and same leak from weep hole. It sprays when throttle advanced. Any ideas?

Car is 1931 840. What is this opening in top of intake used for? My car had fuel line disconnected and all fuel run out of carb. Can I put fuel in this hole to prime engine?

Cork looking plugs in bottom of block
There are two cork like plugs in the bottom of the block near the flywheel. One has some of the material missing. Should I try to fill this with RTV or something. My concern is when I install oil pan it may leek in this area.
