Re: '34 pin strips.super8

Key words to remember when striping: THINK THIN!

I'll try to get you some measurements later in the week but in the meantime see the post on page 8 in the thread "Original Detail Features" in the Packard Photos discussion group.

Re: Pertronix Distributor

Installing a Pertronix isn't particularly recommended, the original type ignition will probably prove more reliable. Major reason for reliability problems with Pertronix in 6-volt systems is the absence of a comfortable cushion between system voltage and the triggering voltage that Pertronix require...

Re: 1939 Packard Henney ambulance

For an ID, how about a vehicle number or motor number or a picture of the motor. The Eight and the 120 are two expressions for the same model.

Re: Replacing cork seal at base of distributor 1953 Patrician

My recollection is a bit faint from years ago but I seem to remember that the bore in the block into which the distributor mounts has a shallow counterbore at the top for a cork gasket. Its probably missing on 90% or the cars out there and with no consequences other than a very occasional drip of oil.

Re: Dual circuit master cylinder conversion kit for a 36 Packard?

There are no kits available that I'm aware of, if you want such a conversion you'll have to engineer something yourself. But let me ask, why do you want this in the first place, properly maintained the standard factory system should be fine.

Re: Drain & Fill Plug Image

I'd be surprised if it's not pictured in the owner's manual, have you checked there? Also, knowing what year or which OD unit would be helpful.

Here's an illustration from the 1941 120 owner's manual for that information for a similar setup.

Re: Detroit Lub Type 51 - Fuel inlet washer?

Doesn't look like it would be much of a challenge to make it yourself. What do you know of the material of construction?

Re: oil filter recommendation please

Hi:
The answer to your query is in the post immediately prior to yours, both the Twelve and Super Eight used the same Purolater L8 filter and R&A Engineering is a source for a reproduction unit.
