Joe, you might be better off by contacting Craig by email. His address is published in each issue of both The Packard Cormorant and the Cormorant News Bulletin.

Re: 2022 PAC National Meet is on
Joe, I passed your query on to Craig Handley, PAC President, and am posting his response here: To Joe Santana Joe I’m sorry that you haven’t had a response until now. Those of us who are planning the meet are working day and night to take care of the million details involved. You will receive a regi...

Re: 327 engine mounting
The 9 main bearing 327 was exclusive to the top-of-the-line Patrician but as a unit is interchangeable with its 5-main brother.

Re: 37 115C fuel system woes
The fuel pump failure with the pin coming out and the arm dropping seems to be more and more common lately. It's especially bad in the V8s because the arm drops in tbe timing gears and often destroys the chain and gearing. I'm really concerned that you had a non-vented cap, have you checked for tank...

Re: 37 115C fuel system woes
First ,thing I'd check would be the gas tank cap, for an OEM fuel delivery system it MUST be a vented cap. If not, pump suction can collapse the tank and cause fuel starvation.

Re: 1937 rear axle ratio
The rear axle ratio (4.36, 4.69 or 4.90 for the 1937 Super Eight) is the ratio of drive shaft rotations to driving wheel rotation. So with one back wheel elevated and the other stationary on the ground, just measure how many turns of the driveshaft are required to rotate the rear road wheel exactly ...

Re: 1937 rear axle ratio
I'd suggest that a better way is to jack up one back wheel, rotate the assembly and actually measure the ratio directly rather than rely on marks which may or may not still represent the ratio.

Re: '51 Model 300 - Not sure where a wire goes....
Does your car have standard shift with overdrive? If so, it may be a wire from the OD circuitry which instantaneously grounds the coil to initiate kickdown.

Re: 1930 Custom Eight Touring
Do I guess that your car is a 740 touring? I believe you are confused by the later method of vehicle number assignment adopted in 1932, the so-called "body type + production number", meaning a three digit number which identifies the chassis and body type (410 in your case), and then the sequential p...

Re: packard 1940 coupe chauffeur need
The vehicle number indicates the chassis is the junior 8-cylinder chassis known as the "120", and it was the 17th such chassis built and supplied to a coachbuilder for completion of the bodywork. Most all phones and desktops/laptops/pads have programs to reduce the file size of pictures. Very anxiou...
