Re: Club Membership Direcotry

Steve, it seems you've missed out on developments which have been publicized a while back in your monthly news bulletin and elsewhere. The membership directory is now available in electronic form, go back to the main page of this website and make the selection to download it. Lots of handy features ...

Re: 1946-1947 Clipper and Clipper Deluxe 8

As to your second question, transmissions (and clutches) are different, as are many other mechanical features of the senior series. I'm uncertain about your first question but believe the answer is no. The bore spacing on the 282 engine is smaller and I'd guess the OAL of the 356 is probably 2 inche...

Re: 53 cavalier just won't fire

Debris in a fresh fuel filter just recently installed? Not a good situation! Whether it's the culprit in your current problem or not, it needs to be attended to.

Re: 53 cavalier just won't fire

If you only experience the problem when you try to accelerate but otherwise the car can cruise along at 50-60 or more miles per hour steady speed even on hot days without misbehaving, then the pump is supplying adequate amount of fuel and vapor lock isn't indicated. If the car behaves correctly when...

Re: 53 cavalier just won't fire

From what I see if all 8 plugs look like this one, plugs are not your problem. But IIRC you installed these quite recently and I'm amazed at the amount of rust and corrosion on the outside of the shell, though that shouldn't affect plug performance. Are you perhaps leaking coolant at the thermostat ...

Re: 53 cavalier just won't fire

If I recall, you discarded the prior plugs without our being able to judge their performance. With no-lead gasoline the correct plugs should give a very long service life. What plugs are you using, make and type? And next time you remove one, let's see a photo of the electrode end.

Re: 39 Super 8 wiper arm

Apologies, I should have checked my own sources before answering. My A.E.A. Universal Catalog of Original Service Parts gives the original Trico arm as Trico #76691-40-W and a length of 6-3/4".

Re: 1936 120 Aftermarket Fenderskirts

Return for a refund? I'm not well-informed about sources for accessories like this, but you might give a call to David Flack in Texas who specializes in prewar junior cars and parts. His contact information is in the membership directory and he's also an occasional visitor here and if you browse aro...

For an answer based on original Trico data I'd suggest contacting Ficken Wiper Service at wiperman.com
