V8 oil pump

Like many 55-56 Packard owners, I put in the Old's oil pump kit because of valve tapping at high speeds. Unlike most who have done this, I have come across a new problem. No. They are available at the regular providers (Kanter, Max Meritt etc). You could also send it out to a rebuilder such as Gould and others listed in Hemmings.

Great pictures. Sorry I could not make it. Had a prior date for King George III's Birthday celebration at New bridge landing hosted by the 4th New Jersey Volunteers.

Re: 110 versus 120 on highway??

I have driven a 1939 110. It did not have OD and was working very hard at 55 mph. With OD, 60 to 65 MPH should be possible.

Re: Packard Club Sponsor

I was just having work done on my 54.My Mechanic gave me a list of parts needed almost every day. I called our sponsor and had the parts in no time at all. This was very important to me as I did not want to tie up his shop. They were just fantastic about everything.

Re: Year id

the 22xx doesn't mean its a 1949 unless you see a 9 after it ie 22xx-9-xxxxx. 22xx designates 22nd series which was introduced in mid 1947 as a 1048 model.

Re: Sproat and Dunn

I just purchased a 1936 Match book cover with advertising by Sproat and Dunn in Hackensack. It actually has a picture of the dealership on it.I hope to have it posted as soon as it is received.
