Hello Dmsmart, Have had my 1955/400 a little over a year. As you, I was concerned that the temp gauge only moved 1/4 to 1/3 left to right. Had my mechanic check it out and he found nothing wrong. Stant r-6 (7 lb.) radiator cap is one that will fit. I have it one my 1940/356. They are on e-bay quite often and are not expensive.

Does anyone know the correct replacement for Gates 676 belt(NLA)? Used for 1940/356 engine. Or perhaps the dimensions?

Hi Howard, The selector fork on my 1940/356 was worn and sloppy and on too many occasions got stuck causing me to stop, open the hood and force the fork back into the correct position. Max Merritt supplied me with the correct fork. Was VERY expensive, but correct and now shifts with no problems. Jus...
