Re: 35-36 120 Bumper Questions ...

Thanks everyone. I have a 36 120 Sport Coupe with a rack. The rear bumper was rechromed about 50 years ago and is starting to look its age. There is slight rust around the bolt holes, has some chrome pitting on the bottom and has (2) extra holes that someone drilled sometime in its past for extra bu...

Re: 35-36 120 Bumper Questions ...

Hey Don, Thanks for your detailed reply. Now you can see why I asked the question. This obviously was a strange time for Packard rear bumpers. I guess the only thing that can be said when trying to find another bumper would be to try it on the car to be sure. I'm guessing that the cars with racks ha...

35-36 120 Bumper Questions ...

I have a few questions regarding 35-36 120 Bumpers. 1) Are there (2) different rear bumpers for these cars? One if it has a luggage rack and one if it doesn't? What is the difference? 2) Is the black horizontal painted line done in flat, satin or gloss black? 3) How hard will it be to find some bump...

Re: Youngest Packard owner to date?

I purchased my first car in 1970 at the age of 13. It was a 1936 120B Sport Coupe. I had to borrow the money from my Dad and he made me pay him back every cent. It became our father/son project. I still have the car today and drive it regularly. Sure wish my Dad was still around to enjoy it also. Mike

Re: 120 High Compression Cast Head

I just wanted to give everyone an update on the HC head for my 36 120B. I decided to go ahead and remove the original aluminum head on my 36 120B and install the cast HC head I managed to find. I cleaned up the head, checked all of the clearance areas, purchased a new head gasket and installed new 1...

Calibration of Temp Gauge ...

Now that I have successfully repaired my Temp Gauge line by installing a new sensor and line I would like to know if anyone knows how to calibrate the gauge. The gauge reading is pretty accurate up to around 180 degrees. At that point the gauge will go no further even with the sensor in boiling wate...

Re: Which Spark Plugs to Use??

So now I have the HC head cleaned and ready to go. I have a new head gasket and have purchased the Autolite 3136 plugs.

Does anyone know what the spark plug gap should be for this setup?

Thanks!!
Mike
