The Model Info Listing on the PackardInfo Site says this: http://packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modul ... model=1381 . A 303 body identifies as 1927.

If the trans/OD unit will bolt up to the bellhousing another consideration, besides shortening the drive shaft, would be whether there is sufficient room in the X member for the extra length of the OD to fit without major chassis surgery. Believe the differences between the six and eight are ahead of the cowl. ie bodies essentially the same while front fenders, etc are different.
