Re: Cormorant #162 - "What Went Wrong"

Hi I too want to congratulate Brian Burke for writing such a compelling and in depth article highlighting another significant situation that contributed to Packard's downfall. Dealer stability or lack thereof was taken as an indication of the overall condition of a car company. The general public di...

Re: Identify this car?

Hi Dave Thanks for the kudos! I only know the look of these from an article in The Classic Car years ago. It occurred to me at the time how much the restyle looked like the concurrent Chrysler. Re: Identify this car?

Hi Dave

Its an early 1930's Renault Reinstella which looks somewhat like the concurrent Chrylser. I'd guess the town car body might be by Kellner.

Re: Essay on the history of automobile/Packard

Hi Clipper56 I would recommend you look into the many extensive Packard histories published, all readily available. They may be more in depth than you need but may spark interest in a specific aspect of the rich history. Check the Bookshelf here and PackardInfo.com for the titles. Filling five pages...

Re: 1958 Packard Hawk Barn find

It was done to differentiate the two models, allow the mounting of the 'continental' spare applique on the lid. The sloped t...

Re: Bought my first Packard today!

Hi Tom Western New York here, but finding good ones like your car for a good price is getting more difficult here. My idea was just like yours, get it reliable and safe, clean it up, do minor body repairs for preservation and appearance but keep it in driver condition so I could enjoy it. Glad its g...
