Re: looking to rent or hire 1930s Packard

Hi I can't help you with the car, I can better identify Geraldine Rockefeller Dodge's cars in the photos: The custom-built Kennel Car is based on a 1938-1940 Cadillac 60 Special sedan. 1938 was the first model year for the 60 Special, quickly became the most popular car Cadillac offered. Geraldine R...

Re: 36 packard mystery coach build

Hi Colin In those years, the most active combination of American chassis and English coachbuilt bodies were Hudsons and Terraplanes, as well as the Railton and Brough Superior makes being the best known English companies that sold under their own name. Small numbers of Packards, both 120 and Eights,...

1954 Detroit Auto Show dealers list

Hi
A kind gentleman who goes by BeeJay on the SDC Forum posted scans of the Studebaker-Packard pages from the 1954 Detroit Auto Show. Contacting him, he thoughtfully granted permission to me to also post the Packard-specific pages here, which includes a list of Detroit-area dealers.

Re: Packard Junkyard.

Hi

That might have been the storage lot for Citizens Motors, the fine Packard museum housed in the original dealership building.

Re: 1940 120 brown leather interior question

Hi dak955

Your 120 is a sweetheart! Looks wonderful in that sand color, bet its just as wonderful to drive too. It could very well be the very 120 coupe with leather interior I encountered 15-20 years ago. Nice to know its in appreciative hands now.

Re: 1940 120 brown leather interior question

Hi

Your interior looks the same color and condition, though vague memory was the car was Packard Ivory or light gray. How about a look at the whole car? 120's are such a sweetheart to drive and look great!

Re: 1940 120 brown leather interior question

Hi I encountered a nicely-preserved original 1940 120 club coupe at a collector car dealer in Hamburg, NY in the late 1990's that had all original tan-brown leather interior. It apparently was optional for those who wished to order it. Export cars typically were fitted with leather interiors for the...
