Re: Visits to Automotive Restorations, Lebanon, NJ

Hi Dave Thanks for the on-going photos, fascinating shop to visit, so many great cars in progress. But I do have to ask, how do they get so much done in what looks like a lot of clutter? Tripping over parts and finished work, looking for tools etc. seems like it would be a problem.......but what do ...

Re: donor car/restoration

Hi Dave gives the best advice. You should consider very carefully before committing major time and money to this car. That said, at its cheap price, you could approach it as a learning tool about pre-war Packard models. Dealing with the problems just involved with getting it operational could be a m...

Re: Robert J. Neal, Packard historian, author and gentleman

Sad news indeed, how much richer is our Packard world for all his work. I too am presently absorbing his last book, information dense is the prefect description. What a great honor it would be for the PAC to establish scholarships in his name, for automotive technology and automotive writing. Rest i...

Re: Looking to buy a Packard

Hello Chris Welcome, nice to read you are looking for a Packard. Although I can't add any useful advice to what has been posted on the specific car, I would advise to proceed carefully, investigate a number of cars and various series of Packards. Quite a few are offered all over the country, in all ...

Re: Now & Then - Riga, Latvia

Hi Dave Thanks for the photos and update, I remember when this flamboyant Packard surfaced in photos in the CNB years ago. Guessing the coachbuilder at the time, Saoutchik, Figone and Falaschi came to mind first though Franay could come up with the style too. Glad to see that it has been restored an...

Re: Vintage photo - 443?

Hi Dave

No expert here, but it has six lug wheels, hood louvers, no inside cusps in the radiator shell, the prior molding style, so I'll guess either 1926 243 or 1927 343. I defer to those thoroughly familiar with these magnificent Packards for the correct answer.

Re: 1935 Packard Hearse Info please

Hi Interesting hearse, looks to be in good condition. Though I can't shed light on the specific coachbuilder but can see how it was built. Your '35 120 hearse started life as a standard production Body No. 893 five passenger sedan, factory priced at $1,060. The conversion entailed stretching and ins...

Hi Martin Here's another Packard resource we all enjoy here, not only for cars for sale but in general for good advice and moral support.....when the project gets frustrating: PackardInfo is first-class too, moderated and civil. http://packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb/index.php Specifically,...
