Re: Looking for SideMount Mirors

There was a nice pair on the AACA website, also check Restoration Supply, they have a couple of them. Originals will be hard to find.

I assume the slot head is correct, but not sure about the oval head ? This car was restored about 30 years ago, so assum...

Paint colors

I am about to start painting my 1932 901, and would like to know of any accurate color chips from suppliers that some of you may have worked with ? I know that pigments from that period may affect color, but at least I would have a starting place. I found the original color, sort of an olive green, ...

Have you talked to anyone about repairing that block ? Lock n Stitch is a method that has saved many an old engine. You can view some repairs on You Tube, it is fascinating work.

Re: Camshaft Bearings

Well, mine turned out to be the camshaft bearing/seal, not the slinger, but I understand the issue. I thought mine was the slinger too. Lucky for me it was the camshaft. As you mention, removing the engine is not what I wanted to do. I originally thought I had solved the problem when I rebuilt the e...

Re: Interior Fabric Protection

I would not use moth balls. I used to service a RR Silver Cloud 1 for the original owner lady, and she had cups of moth balls in that car. When I had it in my garage I would open the windows and try to air it out, but my shop smelled for days afterwards, and the beautiful leather interior in my opin...

Re: Transmission Removal

I just got the clutch disk, and pressure plate back from Max Merritt. Ft. Wayne Clutch did the rebuild, they do fantastic work ( see photos ). 85 year old stuff looks like new. Hope it works as good as it looks.
