Re: Fuel vapourisation

You could try E Bay. I have had good luck with that. You never know what you will find. I recently bought a new old stock coil for a small amount. It wasn't Packard, but it was the proper design. It fit perfectly and is working fine. I have never had any problems with coils. This is the first one I ...

Re: clock repair

Thanks for the reply. As you say there is not much to lose, so I will give it a whirl. The car is not at home at the moment, but will be soon. I will let you know how it went.

Re: clock repair

I have a 47 Packard with the usual non working clock. I would like to have it run, but I think I may be wasting my time and money by having it repaired. I know it could be converted to Quartz, but I like to keep things original when it is sensible to try to do so. Does anyone have any thoughts about...

Re: Fuel vapourisation

I know this is an old post and you may have fixed the problem by this time. However if you are still having problems, and are looking for a new coil, they are available at NAPA. The only problem is they are all built with both terminals on the end, not one on each end. That is easily over come by si...

Re: Bijur oil

Thanks for the replies: I have a 47 clipper, and that is my only experience with a Packard. Until I began looking at Packard sites, I had never heard of bijur oil. Both replies covered the subject. Thanks again.

ATP 205 Reseal

I have a leak at both ends of the drive shaft. I can replace the seals if necessary, but I have seen a lot of good reviews for a product called ATP 205 reseal. I am thinking about trying this before having the seals replaced. The car is a 1947 Clipper Deluxe. Has anyone used this produce? What were ...

Re: Production/Popularity of Packard Models in 1918?

I can't be of much help, but I suspect your average price is about right. Packard was always an expensive car, much more so than the average car, which probably cost in the hundreds instead of the thousands. I think that is probably the reason they went out of business. When average cars became more...

Thanks for the information. Now I will know which car people are talking about when they refer to a series number.
