Re: ID'ing a distributor

Dave, good suggestion about the ballast resistor. Question: Will a coil with an internal resistor serve as well as one requiring an external resistor?

Re: History search of 1941 Packard 110 Deluxe

Does anyone here keep copies of old PAC membership directories? Seems these could be a way to identify previous owners. Just a thought...

Re: Packard Marine V8 conversions

Please correct me if I am mistaken, but the flat or 180 deg 4-cyl crankshafts for V-8s went away a long time ago. Although, I seem to recall that there were some use of this design used for performance engines. Certainly not the case for the post-war V-8 Packard marine engines.

Will one of you please post a summary on the discussion? It would be helpful in case others are experiencing the problem or run into it in the future. Thanks.

Re: 1941 12 Passenger Limo

I wrote a reply on this earlier today, but it did not get loaded. Here it is again. The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History in Albuquerque, New Mexico recently recovered and restored an 8-door 1941 Clipper Limo. It was restored for appearance only and is not a running chassis. They have it ...

Re: 1940 heater

I believe your heater-defroster has a 2-speed reversible motor operated by a special switch that selects the heat or defrost mode and speed. In one direction the fan blows heated air into the passenger compartment and in the other up to the windshield through tubes and outlets in the garnish molding...

Re: Ignition Rotor Repair

Dave, thanks for posting these informative articles on lenses, locks, nuts, and rotors. I think they would get more exposure in the project blog or other section. Still, they are great articles. (o{}o) Dave, of course it belongs here. My mistake. Confused this media section with one from the other P...
