Let's see the other end of the NAPA filter cartridge.

.......Here's the 2 ends of the filter. My question is how do I stop the oil from leaking out the holes that surround the larger central hole with the threads.

Am I failing to see it or is the rubber gasket missing from the filter?

Dave, as soon as I saw your reply it dawned on me that there has to be a gasket. I remember when I first opened it up to change the oil some small chunks of dirt coming out of the casing which I thought were parts of the old paper filter material disintegrating from being used for 10 or 20 years without changing the element. Now I realize it was the o ring. I got a new o ring 45 minutes ago, slapped it together and now she purrs like a Tiger cub! Thank you again for helping me through these trying times.
