Anyone have an original shop manual for the 346 marine engine and transmission? What oil is used in the transmission?

O.L, I'll be moving your post to the Marine engine discussion group.

I don't have specific information for the IM-356 marine engine gearbox but a typical lubricant for such an application would be SAE 90 non-foaming mineral gear oil such as a GL-1.

I have a Packard Marine Engine Operator's Manual for models 1M-245 and 1M-356. You can borrow it to make a copy.

The service manual for 1M-245 and 1M-356 reverse gear says: The oil supply for reverse gear lubrication and hydraulic control is entirely separate from the engine, However, the oil recommendations are the same for both systems.
When operating at temperatures below 70 degrees F, use SAE20 and when operating at higher temperatures, use SAE30.
