1937 V-12 fan Belts

Post by timstuart » Wed Jul 11, 2012 7:56 pm

I'm looking for a source for 37 V-12 fan belts. I'm willing to bet gates still makes something appropriate. My local Napa shop guy goes blank when I talk packard. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks. Tim Stuart 512-784-8305. tim@datacomsales.com

Tim

My local bearing supplier also does V belts, pulleys and the like. They will always match up a v belt from the width, profile and length of the old belt.

I bet you have something similar nearby. Gates themselves must catalogue the belts they produce in the same way. Have you checked their website or catalogue at the NAPA store?

If you find a local supplier of pulleys and drive systems (agricultural engineer perhaps) I bet they will have what you need.

Another good source of large belts is your local farm supply house, or try a John Deere or other manufacturer of farm equipment.

Thanks everyone.I've learned a Dayco model 24505 seems to be correct. Also the folks at Gates referred me to their model TR24500. This one seems correct too. Finally Max Merritt sells them as a mated pair with no markings. All three seem identical in form . i have not fit any to a motor yet but will soon. thanks.
