Found packard

Post by pamela » Tue Sep 11, 2018 6:50 am

I have just purchased some old farmland that has a packard frame on it. It's been sitting out in the weather, but does have numbers that may help to identify a year and model. I would like to see it go to someone who may restore or at least use for parts. ( G or 6 321541D) # on engine block left side. Some other numbers on the car are (387635) and (11 14 46) If anyone can give advice. Thanks

For anyone interested, G32xxxx would be the 288 block and fairly late 22nd series production so if the original engine that should date the car and model to an early 49 standard or deluxe eight.

Thank you for the information. If I could figure out how to post some pictures I would. If anyone is interested, this car is in Wisconsin.

You can attach photos by clicking on the tap "upload attachments" and then selecting your file. If the file is rejected it's most probably because the file size is too large, or the file name is unacceptable.

Thats wild, the photos are right side up on my computer. Any thoughts on why this happened?

I will try again.

If you open each photo, they are right side up, viewing is fine.

So take a look at what Pam has, glad to help her post her photos.

Sorry, they all open upside down for me. I guess that means they were taken with a phone, not a camera - I've seen the explanation elsewhere for this phenomenon. Easy enough to rotate them on the computer. The configuration of the automatic choke "stove" in the exhaust manifold and the front suspension suggests the engine and chassis is earlier than the 22nd series as previously suggested, 1947 or earlier.
