Firewall tag 1938

Post by Bluedevil » Fri Apr 05, 2019 4:45 am

I have posted this under the body forum, but my 1938 Packard, which came from the LA area, has a small rectangular plate attached to the left side of the top of the firewall just in front of the hood buffer.

It has been suggested it might have been dealer installed, like a maintenance plate. Mine is illegible and so is my decal so I have no idea who the dealer was.

What I am trying to find out it twofold.

1. What is it and what does it say? and more importantly

2. Does anyone else have a LA area car that has a similar plate and if so do you know the dealer?

Thanks for the help in advance

Not saying it's what yours is, but just for interest here's a couple of examples of service reminder tags provided by dealers.

Dave,

Thanks for the visuals. The top one on the yellow car is similar. The one I have has only 2 rivets, one each in the top and bottom in the center of the short dimension. They are very small.
