Packard 1930 - identification

I am from Czech republic and my friend (he is a pensioner not able to speak English) asked me for help with identification of his Packard. There is car photos, available numbers and only one paper document. I will appreciate if anybody will help me with identification and recommendation of books, manuals etc. related to this car.
The original reason, why my friend contacted me was an issue with cooling. Car is working good when the temperature is at around 25°C, but in the real summer (around 30°C) overheating is a problem. He exchanged water pump, radiator was cleaned and he is not sure if this is something normal, or it has to be fixed by some way.

The engine number *303510* shown in the photo above is in the range for a 1930 Standard Eight (726,733) Packard. Per the Packard Engine Serial Number Reference document on PackardInfo ... erials.pdf

The Beverly Rae Kimes-edited "Packard--A History of the Motor Car and the Company" book shows on page 783 that the engine serial numbers range from 277013 to 305283. So the engine in question fits in towards the end of Standard Eight production. The car should have a wheelbase of 134 1/2 inches (341.63 cm) and will be model number 733. Models 726 and 733 shared the same engine but the 726 was only available as a four door sedan with a wheelbase of 127 1/2 inches. As an open car this one has to be a 1930 Standard Eight Model 733.

Good afternoon...On the left side of the main page...if you scroll will see a little red tool box and 'Tech Tips'. In this area you will find an extensive list of possible 'Overheating Issues'. I found it very helpful when sorting out our 1949 Deluxe 'Miss Princess' the old girl runs along happily in any weather that I am happy in...mainly up to about 96 degrees...Have a great Packard day. First I would check the block temp with a infrared temp gun, and try to isolate any temperature hot spots. If the radiator is truly clean, then the next culprit might be the water jacket. On the right side of the engine is the water jacket cover. Removing this is not a big deal, but be careful reinstalling it as the small screws tend to strip easily. New covers and gaskets are available if yours is rotted out on the inside. Cleaning out the water passages would result in more water getting to the rear of the cylinder head where the temp probe is located.
