Positively Identifying 1929 645 DeLuxe Eight Phaeton

Post by NickVanPierre » Mon Feb 01, 2021 6:31 pm

Hello, I am trying to positively identify what I believe is a 1929 645 DeLuxe Eight Phaeton by Dietrich by its stamped numbers. Is there a clear way? Vehicle #: 177499 Engine: *177588C* *177449* Dietrich body #’s: 1539 4063
Thank you in advance for any insight, seems like it should be easy to identify but here I am scratching my head.
Nick

I can confirm that motor numbers for the 640/645 ran from 167001 to 178879. Beyond that, my suggestion is that you make contact with Mr. James Pearsall of Zarapath, NJ who is an authority on these models. You might also consider contacting the club roster keeper for the 645 Deluxe Eight, you can find contact information in your Packard Club membership directory.

Thank you kindly Dave. Is Mr. Pearsall listed?
