I gave up on my R9 when the cost of low and reverse gears made it a bust. I was quoted $2300 make the gears from scratch. I 'm curious how you managed to get new gears.

Thanks

I bought a new main shaft from a fella in Chicago. $550.

When I say "new", I mean never used. It wasn't a new manufacture.

Any Packard three speed transmission 39-54 has the gears. The hard part is replacing the pressed on keeper. G

Thanks, I'm satisfied I made the right decision after spending hundred of hours and well over $1,500 on an add on device. Add towing to and from Charlotte NC 100+ miles.

I'm glad to see someone was successful.
