Thanks for the update JD; I wish I could have got my kits for the quoted 'list price' !

My own car is a 1941 110 Touring Sedan (19th Series).

With this in mind, could I ask, does anyone know what correct period accessory Road and Back-up lights were offered by Packard for my car please ? Any pictures, installation information etc. would be very much appreciated.

1934 1100 pinstripe

It's quite uncommon to see a restored 1934 Eight or Super 8 with correct pinstriping; hopefully the attached photos will help folks "get it right". This IS NOT original factory pinstriping; when I bought my 34 the pinstriping was failing but enough remained to document carefully and at some point I chose to have the pinstriping refreshed following the original pattern and some sage advice from Jim Pearsall regarding the stripe itself - "think THIN". There is some difference of opinion on how the double stripe ended at the end of the rear fenders - perhaps it differed depending on the individual doing the striping but on some cars where it's hard to dispute the originality the stripes do not feather together to a point as shown but follow further around the fender to the rear and end parallel and the two lines closed by a loop or half-circle - see the last photo which may (or may not) be original striping of this variation. Open cars of course have a different pattern from the cowl back.

Also two photos of an open car being striped - I can't attest to the correctness but it sure seems to faithfully follow the "theme" of double stripes used on the closed cars.

Courtesy of Mark Sylvester, photos of the factory install switch of a Tropic-Aire heater on a 1932 Light Eight (900-553) sedan. An interesting feature of the switch is that the needle illuminates in Red when the switch is activated. Mark's 900 is in a remarkable state of preservation, there are further pictures of it in this thread.

1934 1100 Sun Visors

I recently had a request from someone who had just purchased a 1934 1100 sedan, his car was missing the interior sun visors and he asked for information on mine. I took some photos and measurements, assuming mine were all original like the rest of my interior. After I sent these to him I noticed what appear to be non-original washers at the attachment points so now I am not as sure about their originality. Could the original feature experts out there take a look at these photos and let me know if these look right? Thanks.

Don, to the best of my knowledge my visors have never been removed, certainly not for the last 50+ years I've owned the car. Yours seem to have had some hardware store flat washer added which mine don't have. Sorry, no picture, the hinges were reluctant to move very far.

1934 1100 Sun Visor Dimensions

Thanks Dave. Then I will share the dimensions I took for the good of the cause:

Dimensions of the the interior sun visors: Each one is 16 ½” wide by 10 ¼” high by 3/16” thick plus a 1” deep strip on the other side of the hinge where it attaches to the roof. The entire unit is covered with fabric material matching the headliner and it is attached with six screws. The hinge is not visible so I cannot identify it but from the way the visors adjust I assume it is a piano type hinge. They are mounted 11” from the front headliner seam to the rearmost part of the visor top. There is a 5 ½” space between the two visors.

Just to add to Don's helpful comments, the panel or stiffener inside the fabric sleeve appears to be a man-made wood byproduct material like Beaver Board, and the hinge is a full length piano-type hinge which appears to be nickel plated.
