Packard Marine V8 conversions

Hi folks,

I have a 1955 V8 marine conversion done by Andres Marine, Stockton CA. I have seen Stokes conversions but not another Andres model. It has stainless steel exhaust manifolds, dual thermostats, copper water plumbing and an extended oilpan with an internal oil cooler. I am in the process of restoration and appreciate any info on this engine, specifically info on the raw water pump which is missing. Photos below.

Packard V8 marine engine is basically two straight 4 engines which are together in such a way that thay sharing a
common crankshaft. They are consists of eight cylinders which are mounted on the crankcase of four cylinders in
both of its banks.

Looks like a converted Packard automobile V-8 engine to me.

That's exactly what it is. Here's a Stokes conversion of a Packard 352 V8 being readied for shipment to one of the Packard museums. It's a better photo and easier to see the details.

Please correct me if I am mistaken, but the flat or 180 deg 4-cyl crankshafts for V-8s went away a long time ago. Although, I seem to recall that there were some use of this design used for performance engines. Certainly not the case for the post-war V-8 Packard marine engines.

Not an area I know much about but to my limited knowledge the last such crankshaft for a V8 (any later performance engines excepted) was the very first iteration of the Cadillac V8. Packard likewise after some initial experience with the Single Eight changed the crankshaft from an 4-4 arrangement to a 2-4-2 arrangement for the 3rd Series.
