'52 Henney Ambulance

Post by SilasGunn » Wed Nov 09, 2011 9:54 am

Just bought a '52 Henney Ambulance/Hearse. It needs several things, most important: a transmission. It has a 327 straight 8 engine which may or may not be seized. Does anyone know where to find a trans or engine/trans combo in working condition?

Welcome! Used postwar engines, 288s and 327s are not that hard to find though finding one in condition suitable "as found" for installation may be more difficult. But unless something dramatic has happened (like a cracked block or similar) it's a relatively easy engine to rebuild with all needed parts available. You might start by asking Ross Miller in MD. Are you a PAC member? If so he's in the club roster. You'll want to specify the transmission, Ultramatic, standard shift, or standard shift with overdrive.
