History search of 1941 Packard 110 Deluxe

Post by 41Packard » Mon Jan 28, 2013 9:14 am

I'm doing a history search on a 1941 Packard 110 Deluxe that I recently purchased. I've exhausted my leads and hope that some of you more senior Packard owners my be able to help me out. This '41 Packard Deluxe was first purchased in May 1941 from the dealership “Portland Packard” in Portland, Oregon. In the year 2011 I traveled to Portland but failed to recognize the old Packard agency building at 1333 W. Burnside Avenue. There's been major redevelopment in the West Burside area and I had limited time to search. The Packard Deluxe received a very nice frame-off restoration in 1991-92 by a Charles Wood at Vancouver, Washington which is across the Columbia River from Portland. The mileage at the time of restoration was 54,387. I tried unsuccessfully to contact anyone in the Vancouver area with a last name Wood that might have known a Charles Wood. The present owners acquired Bella in 2009 from a Earl Bellamy of Bainbridge Island, Washington who had shown the Packard frequently in the greater Seattle area. Information from anyone knowing anything about Charles Wood from Vancouver would be appreciated.

Does anyone here keep copies of old PAC membership directories? Seems these could be a way to identify previous owners. Just a thought...
