1931 840 coupe whereabouts?

Post by packdaddy » Sat Jan 10, 2015 10:10 am

First time post, long time member. Just trying to find out if my uncles model 840 coupe still exists out there. it was sold new here in Waterloo, Iowa. My uncle died in 1975 and the Packard was sold to a collector in Janesville, Wisconsin in 1978. That individual passed in 1992 and his collection was dispersed at an auction. Lost track after that. The car had been restored in the early 70's and was often featured at trade shows throughout the country. Maroon body had silver accents and silver fenders, double rear mounted spares, rumble seat, red leather, artillery wheels. Beautiful car!! My cousins and I were all too young at that time to have kept it. The VIN# 478-101A. Sure would love to hear from anybody that might know about this vehicle. I have all of the interesting history I could share. Thank you, Mike

The only 840 that is shown in the registry at another site is an 840 Roadster located in Windsor, Ontario. Hopefully someone else can give you a better answer. Also, welcome to the club, as far as the Forum is concerned. Gene

Try the Roster Keeper for that Series or Model of Packard. Roster Keepers can be found back on the main menu on the left hand side(you may have to scroll down to locate it).

Thanks for the tip, I'll try the roster keeper. I looked in my 2013-2014 membership directory and found 3 coupes listed but no response yet. Will keep trying.
