Original Pattern Upholstery & Top 1935 120A

Post by will » Wed Jan 09, 2019 5:06 pm

Hi!
Per above subject, can anyone help me identify my 1935 model 899 120A convertible coupe original upholstery pattern/ I need seats -front and rumble-and door panels. I know it was leather but my upholsterer wonders the pattern. Any pictures of an original interior would be helpful, also the colors used with the various paint schemes. Did this model use carpeting front and back, or rubber mats? Also, did the rumble lid have a rubber seal around the bottom, which acted as a water preventive when lid was closed? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

You really should try to find a copy of the standard reference source for restoration of these cars, "The Production Packard 1935-1937, a Restoration Reference" by Darvin Kuehl
and published in 1993. I'm sure you can find a used copy. Floor coverings for 1935 were rubber mats, front and rear. If you go back to "Reference" on the main website you'll find paint code names and chips for 1935, note that the actual color portrayed may not be very accurate, not only has time taken a toll on the pigments, but scanning and viewing also can alter the color. The original colors can be replicated by the major paint manufacturers. Sorry, can't help with your other questions.

Good morning Will, I have the book that Dave referenced in his response to you.

I will scan the two pages that reference your car and upload to the site. If the file is too large to send I will Private Message you and email to you.

I will do so later this morning.

Thank you.
