Clutch Problem

Post by MikeBell » Sun Jun 13, 2021 8:52 am

Greetings. I have a 1955 Packard with manual transmission. Seems the clutch is not fully releasing in any gear. Hardly any free play when disengaged. What can be the cause & Is this adjustable? Thx.

What's the pedal freeplay when the clutch is engaged? If excessive (more than about 1 inch), that could be the cause.

Thanks for reply. When clutch pedal is down there is no freeplay. When pedal fully released there is hardly any freeplay. Plus clutch pedal lets out very high to engage into any gear.
