Top Suspension bushing 1938 1608

Post by Bluedevil » Fri Oct 19, 2018 10:24 am

I am looking for the bushing that goes in the top of the front suspension upright, where the outer part of the shock arms attach with a thru bolt.

I haven't been able to find a replacement. Maybe I am calling it the wrong thing?

It sounds like you need to buy a shop manual and a parts list.

The upright piece with the spindle is the "wheel support". You're looking for the upper outer wheel support bushing. Where have you been looking for it? For rubber parts I'd always start with Steele Rubber. After that, Kanter and Max Merritt would be choices.

PS - did a quick look at Steele, check their part 30-0391-32

Dave,

I drew a blank looking at the parts book. I looked under shocks and suspension. Lots of diagrams and part numbers, but nothing pointing to this bushing. I went an measured and the Steele one looks like it would be the correct size.

Thanks for your help.
