How is the Instrument Panel Light Knob on a 1939 Super-8 secured to the light switch pull rod? :?:

Like almost all of the plastic knobs such as window cranks etc, I believe the knobs are molded into serrations on the rod ends when the assemblies are made so are effectively one piece. IIRC, one poster said a metal knob would unscrew but I don't remember anyone ever confirming that to be true. If you are trying to remove the switch the bezel holds the switch to the dash and using a special tool in the slots on either side of center, it unscrews. After that all the work is done behind the dash to release the rod end from a hole in the switch tongue and free the switch.
