Have you checked with the paint archivist or paint libraries of the major auto paint manufacturers? In a majority of cases they can provide current matches for most all old paints.

Anyone else with advice?

Here's one source. From here I contacted PPG. They purchased Ditzler Paint and have the formula. The color center then converts the color to modern finishes. Mine is Envirobase, a new water soluable, eco-friendly base color coat.

Some other 40 Conv sedans near the bottom of the page:

You can contact the PPG Color Library here. They were very helpful in getting the formula converted and sending the formula to the authorized paint shop.

Would anyone know a modern equivalent for Chickory Green Metallic. I am restoring a 1941 Packard 120 convertible sedan which has this as the original colour and want to refinish it in the same shade.

Any help/pointers would be deeply appreciated

Thanks
