Post by 433ambulance » Mon Oct 02, 2017 12:51 am

what is the width of the hood lacing on the radiator and the cowl? Does anyone have pictures showing position and /or hardware? Rivets?

I will have a look at my 533 and get back to you. I bet they are the same.

The hood lacing at the front (radiator cowl end) is 3/4" wide, whilst the lacing at the rear is 1" wide. It has a sort of 'U' profile, but I am sure flat stuff would work just as well. Mine is fitted with what looks like a rivet head, but on the reverse side it is like one of those spilt paper clips that bends in two directions to secure it. Again, I should think a row of countersunk brass nuts and bolts would look very smart.

I have posted a few pics of my car to show what I mean.

Thanks Adam. Just what I needed. The pics are very helpful. I think originally they used split rivets. Will have to look around a little more before I decide on the fasteners, but the brass bolts would look sharp. Cheers, Brant
