Door hinge pillar weatherstripping

Post by H.E. PennyPackard » Sun Jun 09, 2019 12:42 pm

Hello,

To install a replacement front door pillar hinge weatherstripping piece, does the front fender have to come off?

It would help to know the year and model.

Sorry! Posting from the field mid project, forgot normal human interaction rules because I’ve just been talking to Penny all day. It’s a 49 2262 deluxe sedan, replacement rubber from kanter.

Any help on how to get this actually installed would be much appreciated. Bonus points if it’s before the next rainfall!

As I recall you only have to loosen a few fender bolts but removal is not required.

I suggest you go to the "Blogs" discussion group and browse Tinman's efforts with the same vintage Packard, I do seem to remember that he discussed this.
