'37 Convertible Top Channels

Originally, were the metal channels on the '37 four door convertible top that holds the weatherstriping chrome plated or painted?

chrome. suggest restoring with stainless channel available. Ford.

Flackmaster thanks for the suggestion. I need channel 1 1/8" X 3/16" as shown below, do you know of a resource?

For info. - I found a source for SS Roof rail weatherstrip 1" wide channel retainers - C&G Early Ford Parts.
