Car is 1931 840. I just rebuilt my fuel pump and car will not start. Is the large nut on top of intake used to add fuel in a situation like this? If so how much fuel should I put in?
I put fuel in the hole engine did not start. I hooked hose to carb inlet filled with fuel blew gently it fired right up.

That isn't really for that purpose. Are you sure you are getting fuel delivered to the carburetor bowl?
