33 1003 Exhaust system pics or dwg's wanted

Post by DWS1003 » Thu Oct 01, 2009 5:23 am

Does anyone have pictures or drawings showing the exhaust system mounting on the chassis? The parts book lists several brackets and heat shields, etc. I was also told that some of the early 1003's had the exhaust turn in front of the gas tank and exit on the left side. I have an unused bracket attached to the frame alongside the gas tank - I am wondering if that is for the tail pipe. The existing exhaust system on my car exits on the right side, but has a poor hanger/bracket, the muffler does not fit well, the tailpipe rubs against the gas tank, ....

I forgot to take a picture of this bracket - I will post tonight.

Darrell,

Here are some pic's of my mate's '34 exhaust, don't know if it's the same or similar to the '33 and it's also RHD to further complicate matters. Hope these help.

THANKS for the exhaust pics. The pic confirms the bracket I have on the LEFT side is for the exhaust, where the pipe will cross over in front of the gas tank and exit on the left side. Apparently , this was "corrected" sometime in '33. I do not have the large clamp/bracket that surrounds the muffler. I ordered a new exhaust, with left side exit, from Kepich Exhaust. He said it would have heat shields and lugs welded on for any mountings. Should be here soon.
