1936 Autolite Distributor dual point adjustment

Post by dgpnaples » Fri Apr 02, 2021 10:48 pm

I cahnegd the both points in my distributor togeyher with plugs, condensor and rotor last week. I set the adjustable points with a feeler gauge. On the fixed points I could not find a wrench small enough to loosen the nut on the set point, so I could set the points to the correct gauge size. So I left it alone but I can see the gap is too large.

I went to ACE and bought a set of Craftsman very small open wrenches but none worked.

The car is running, a little rough to my liking, so I would like to find out what size wrench I need for that nut, so I can adjust properly. See attached photo. Thanks in advance.

dg, you need to acquire an "ignition wrench" set.
