Voltage Regulator-1947

Post by ronrowand » Thu May 06, 2021 6:19 pm

Just installed fourth voltage regulator. This one Echlin VR45. Hope it works.

Previous Standard Ignition brand-- cut out failed. Previous two unreliable charging control.
All four different brands but could be from same factory.

I would stockpile OEM Autolite.

I had Echlin NORS units on both Packards, 20 or more years of use in both cases, never a problem. If the Echlin unit also fails, time to start looking for some systemic problem. Generator polarized after service? Good grounds?
