Horn doesn't work on 1934 Packard 1100 Sedan

Post by Payneangelfire » Tue May 11, 2021 2:21 pm

Gentlemen and Ladies,
I am the new owner of a 1934 Packard 1100 Sedan. Not sure if horn problems should be in this category but I thought I would try.
Everything on the car works great except for the horn. Is anyone aware of a guide to fixing the horn (i.e., step by step instructions to track down the problem)? Any ideas will help.

Check the horn relay, if original its marked with an "RBM" logo on the cover. Its located on the driver side of the engine compartment, down low, near the oil filter. First see if the power to it is live, then check the continuity to the horns, and if all that is OK then grounding the wire that goes up the steering column to the horn button should result in the horn blowing. Simple basic electricity. If you wish, the wiring diagram is on this site, go back to the main page and select "Wiring" from the menu.
